Hey Guys

Brought my car in for an alignment after noticing the wear on my tires to be uneven but I have a question regarding the results.

Left Front Camber
Range should be between -1.50 and -0.50

I got -1.78

So it's clearly still out of spec, but will that make any real difference? Should I go back to the shop and ask them to fix it?

You'll see far more accelerated tire wear from bad toe than bad camber. Less than 2 degrees shouldn't cause any problems.

Do you have camber adjustments on the front anyway? There's a good chance the shop can't fix it.

Ohh, okay that's somewhat good news I guess. I don't have a kit or anything, just stock struts with the Eibach Pro springs

My rear tires camber is actually more off... Here's the report

Most cars don't have any camber adjustment from the factory. Not sure about the Evo's, but I would assume they do not either.

Do you know what your toe numbers were like before the alignment?

Unfortunately not - surprised they didn't include that on the report...

Do you think I'm okay though? Or should I be going back

Well, like I said... they probably can't adjust your camber. So going back will be a waste of time.

I wouldn't want that much camber on my daily driver, but I don't think it's that terrible. I was hoping your "before" toe numbers were bad enough to take the blame for the tire wear.

Found this

Quote
The front OEM suspension will adjust for more NEGATIVE camber AFAIK ("flipping the bolt"). The rears can be adjusted by tuning the eccentric bolt. Also to throw some information out there, toe-in is killing your tires, not necessarily the camber. Toe can be adjusted with more flexibility.

So I guess they can do something for the rear, though those eccentric bolts are often seized up. Could be worth the trip back.

But yeah, like he says.. bad toe chews tires real quick. The rear camber you have is nothing insane for someone setting their car up for cornering, just a bit more than a daily driver would use. You're still nowhere near Hellafucked territory.

Zero the toe out completely all around. Evo's come stock with positive tow which kills the tires in no time. My Evo came brand new with quite a bit toe in especially in the rears. I have zeroed everything else since.

The rears camber is adjustable. For the fronts, just flip the bolt as mentioned for more negative camber. My car is still on stock suspension, so the stock adjustment is still fine for me. I was able to zero out toe all around. Camber on the front is a little more aggressive than the rears, something close to -0.50, and they match from left to right.

Yeah, there have been many reports of EVO's coming from the factory with wonky alignments.

Unfortunately, your report is pretty useless for identifying the tire wear issue without any "before" readings.

I run zero toe at all four corners, -2° camber front and -1° rear without any unusual tire wear.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd add to this, and ask what you guys think.

Rear right toe arm is seized, so that was the best they could do, and matched the left side to the right.

Steering wheel was pulling to the left and did not want to sit straight going straight on the summer wheels/tires, and since putting on the winters, same thing.

i think you need to fix the permissions on that image.
Mine were the same state, I still haven't fixed it yet as I was planning to do the rear end swap anyways.
