Been a while since I've posted a pic, the car now runs. Just finishing up my methanol setup. And doing break in tune. Then going to be wrapping up the custom wiring harness.
Can't wait to enjoy the car in the spring.

3G Eclipse wheels with shitty tires on the 1G so it doesn't flatspot the new tires as it sits smile

Damn Mike I guess you're right. For some reason I kept thinking they came off the 3G..

I stand corrected then !

And thank you smile I didn't think I would like them but they are growing on me.

Just remember that those wheels are lugcentric as opposed to hubcentric and require the proper nuts for use.

If you need a set, I think I have them.

It's currently using the stock lugnuts I believe. I don't have anything fancy. DO you have pics of them? I was just planning to use these wheels for storage, but they've grown on me so maybe I will use them smile

Actually come to think of it, my 1g has lugcentric nuts. They look like they center the bolt hole and use a flared flat washer midway up the nut.

Correct!

Other than tires as you mentioned.

The factory size tires used on those wheels are 215/50/17.

The rim dimensions are 17x6.5 +46 IIRC.

Might be helpful info when selecting a new set of rubber.

i like them. I think they look better than EVO8 wheels on 1G.
I wish they came in 17x8 and enough offset to clear large calipers.

Yeah I wish the wheels were wider. The tires on there now are 215/40R17's, so it needs a little more sidewall. So thanks for the factory size Mike.

Alex, I know what you mean. I don't plan to ever change the brakes to anything larger so I'm golden smile being a 1993 it's the first year of the factory "big brakes" so I'm happy with them.

got some MB weapons 17x9 +27 with 245 bfg pro comp 2's from discounttire a while back. They are priced awesome and they look great, and ideal for our suspension geometry.
Cant wait to test them out, as the car finally runs now smile

Also have a set of 16x8 Kosei K1's with RA'1s for the track.
although I would like to stick with the 17's at the track to reduce sidewall roll, but the Kosei's are just so light!

You realize you could just run a smaller (sidewall) tire at the track, right? Not like it matters what your speedo says on the track - it's probably the most unimportant gauge there is when you're on a track. Keep in mind this would effectively change your kph/rev ratio so you'd want to make sure this would be okay with your tracking needs. (You'd basically shorten the gear ratios with a smaller OD tire; more accel but less range of speed in each gear).

That being said, car looks good! I like the Koseis.

Yep! I know I could by smaller tires. but when the Kosei's came with RA'1s on them, ill wear them out, then consider a new smaller R compound. smile

Figured that was the case. The extra half inch of sidewall on the 16's isn't really going to cause you significantly more (noticeable) sidewall flex on a tire like an RA1 so I wouldn't worry too much about it, especially if you're not an extremely experienced racer.

Doesnt take an extremely experienced racer to find the limits of a tire. wink

Its going to take time to learn the car first anyway.

going from a mildly built 340awhp (mustang dyno) DSM,

to a caged 500+awhp DSM with a ton of suspension upgrades and brakes is quite the leap.

Ill play around with tires once I burn these up.

Ive driven fast DSM's (500+awhp). But it will be fun pushing this one as hard as I can at the track.

It takes an experienced racer to appreciate and be able to differentiate the nuances in a tire and to be able to predict and control how it will behave under any and all conditions...any idiot can find the limit if they turn the wheel hard enough wink tongue

I don't want to clutter up this thread but I'm interested in what you're doing suspension wise, assuming this is being done to your 1G since my 1G will eventually be track (road race) focused. Feel free to PM me to discuss your (planned) setup! smile

Thanks Manny, these headlights are OEM made by Stanley just like most other Mitsu headlights.

Yes sir! I purchased them new OEM in Nov 2009 (damn time flies). Here is the closer look and comparison to my old before installation.

I did, it can spike quick to 30psi but gradually deeps down to 23.5 by a redline. During my tests, i found this turbo operates best at 22-24psi. There is no need to push for more because it just feels so unbalanced in power. Way too sensitive at low rpms and noticeable power drop towards the top end. Recently I tuned my wastegate to stay 68% open at around 3000rpm and gradually clime to 100% by 6000rpm. That way it actually feels linear and more powerful towards the top end.

Defiantly excited to swap to FP68HTA this year

Some good notes there as I was planning to max out my 16g on the new car.

Excited to see the results!

My girly Evo rotflmao

Got the exhaust on. What a nice improvement in power and response.

I don't think so. I don't think I want to go for the murdered out look. For wheels I would like to keep them a lighter colour for the contrast.

I really want a set of the MR/Handling Package BBS' or a set of RPF1's
