Hey guys, Well still don't have the 1g in my possession, but I'm tired of doing nothing and seeing all you guys upgrading and tinkering away so I'm going to be planning what I need for after summer/hotter days. I bought a solar wing for it a while back (don't hate, I like the look and find the fact it also acts as a nice "tint" of sorts for the back window). Anyway, I remember a couple guys telling me to use windshield glue to fasten it to the window to be sure it'll NEVER come off. Is this the best solution? or is there a better alternative somewhere? Also, same question with this and Lexan panels as I may do the same thing with the 2g while eliminating the OEM wing. For those who don't know what it is: Just a piece of plastic essentially.

Yeah, I tend to find the best pics to show what it looks like, that guy's 2g is a Beaut'!
Thing with the 3m tape is how long would it last? Can it be worn by mother nature and possibly come off (there is a slight duckbill at the end so it will see air turbulence and hence force, that's my only issue)?

What did that guy use?
And how long has it been installed?
I use 3M for badges, side skirts, lips.. But eventually the skirt let go.
I personally wouldn't use epoxy but in that location, you might not have a choice.
Can't pressure wash, and def no touch car wash if you do tape it.

Sikaflex is what the MCM boys use when they don't want something coming off, why don't you look into that? And would definitely choose it over epoxy as it's always flexible.

Id say on a 1g, the louvers remind me more of a 1986 shelby daytona turboI than a mustang. Personally, I think the Daytona was cooler anyhow.
Speaking from experience, 1g>2g.

Clean both surfaces properly, and the 3M tape should be more than enough. I've used it to hold on body pieces in a few different scenarios.. one that I still see every day is the front bumper on my advisor's car. The bumper skin itself uses the factory mounts, but all of the stuff that came stuck to the original I mounted to the replacement with 3M tape. That was 4 years ago; he drives it year round and puts LOTS of mileage on it. As with most jobs of this type, prep is everything. Edit: Just noticed this post: I want it to stay there forever. If I ever need to change it, I'll remove the glass lol. If that's the case, epoxy it. The only reason to not use epoxy is because it's not something that's reversable.
