Been really happy with my Hankook Ventus V12's, they grip enough to almost nail a 1.5 60' and have lasted 2.5 summers so far. Agreed, and they should be close to half of what you budgetted

Is this going to be a daily summer car? or is it going to be a weekend car? If it's weekend than rs3 is a good choice, if it's a daily I think you will burn through them pretty fast.

Is this going to be a daily summer car? or is it going to be a weekend car? If it's weekend than rs3 is a good choice, if it's a daily I think you will burn through them pretty fast. That and they're not great in rain (and by not great I mean pretty bad, especially when worn down a bit), but you will feel like your car is glued to the asphalt. They are probably too stiff if you plan to drag race and will likely cause you some snapped axles. If you just want a fun car that will hold the power and carve corners, these tires will most definitely do the trick. Personally, I've always believed Hankook to be the absolute best bang for the buck and have been through multiple sets of Ventus V12 Evo's on various cars (including DSMs). That being said, since you have some time, I would wait and look around for clearance deals (winter is coming), manufacture rebates, etc. There are a lot of great tires out there and you should be able to find a great deal on something that will make you happy.

Besides.. I predict after November.. The American economy is gonna fall apart and We will get much better tire prices.
