Ok. So last year there were several clean ups at Shoot Out. So this year Dave is pushing engine diapers or undertrays on all the high HP cars. This is very smart and should cut down on .. Down time.

In spirit of this new rule, some were discussing we use them aswell. Engine diapers are expensive for a weekend worrier... But undertrays are cheap to make.

So it was brought up that a fun challenge could be that everyone racing at Shootout this year try making an undertray for their car. And and a round of beers for the best one!

So I am starting this thread.. Not only to discuss the challenge.. But more to discuss ideas about making an undertray.

😀

Mitsubishi took care of that for me from the factory. Did indeed contain the mess well when #4 let go.

An aluminum diaper? Sounds like alot of wasted fab time for 90% of people who don't need it. Just go to scrap yard and get an under shield from a Lancer and cut it to fit. Prolly give you better air flow under the car aswell.

Not really. I will most likely use this thing all the time. Would be nice if everyone used one. Hate waiting for track clean up.. Almost asmuch as blowing a motor on the track.

Lancers and evos dont have down pipes to deal with. But honestly.. Its not hard. Its literally just a pan or tray moubted under the engine.

So after the shootout, they tweaked, saying all cars had to run diapers.

Is that not the case this upcoming year?
