So just found out that Service Ontario will no longer allow you to renew expired plates online, based on the website it looks like this is a new thing since last august. You know need to go in to renew expired plates.

Very weird, my wife tried to do it yesterday and the day before and it gave her some non descript error, than she googled and found that answer. Will try again some time today and see how it goes.
