Ok so I have a 92 6-4-auto, at this moment it is stock except the PO installed an ebay 16G and pretty purple ebay bov. To make a long story short engine smokes and i am going to do a freshen on it " rings, valves, seals ETC.

Now I have a 7 bolt head, an evo 3 intake, 1G TB, 1G Bov and an old school 264/272 set of cams, evo beehive springs,TI retainers and a FP mani with a real MHI evo3 16.
I was thinking of throwing it on because I think it will work better with the auto. Thoughts?

I know I have to enlarge the head bolt holes, other than this does anyone know of any other problems or changes that need to be made?
Thanks John

Nope, you already have the intake manifold so your good.
Coil pack mounting and wires are different so make sure you have that too.

That's similar my setup in my 2g.

More or less it's just the stud holes. If I'm not mistaken you can use with the 2g or 1g water neck and pipe in this situation, whichever you prefer.

Thanks Guys: Bryan I am going to make a coil mount and use the stock 1G or 2G wires or a combo whatever fits best. Jason yeah just drilling the stud holes out, never thought about the water neck and pipe 2g or 1g think I am leaving the 2g neck on and I do have a 2g pipe to match. Are the sensors on the 2g the same?
Oh and which cam gears are better or should i use 6 bolt or 7? thanks again guys more heads less fuckups when i go to do this!

I use a 6bolt bottom end with 2g head. I use a 6 bolt belt cover.. and from what I remember the little plates on the side of the 2g head don't bolt exactly to the 6 bolt cover. Since the 2g cover is different.

If you're talking stock cam gears, they're all the same but the 95-96 intake cam gear, which as the 2ga cas on it.

Yes the 1g sensors will screw into the 2g water neck.

I use a modded 2g timing cover, it's much easier to get on and off in the car if need be.

I don't know if he can use a 2g cover in his 1g. My 1g cover is cut up to get around the motor mount.

In theory.. the 1g intake cam gear would be lighter......

So there's that.

1g and 2gb cam gears are identical, so whichever if you don't need the cas on it.

I've seen people split the 6 bolt timing cover into a multi piece as well. The hole on the 2g cover is larger than on a 1g, so it should fit with a little gap.
