Ok, it's that time again... to gather up the names and credit card info, from anyone who wants a room at the Gull Motel for the 2002 Shootout!

For those who have never been, this is a reasonable little motel, with a pool and air conditioned rooms, with two double beds in each room. Some rooms also have fridge and hotplate or microwave. (first reserved, first served)
It's not right in Norwalk, but it's also not that far out of it... and it's NOT $125 a night USD!

Here's the rates (all in USD of course):
Thursday - $60
Friday - $70
Saturday - $70
Sunday - $60

The idea here, is that I have booked the whole place out, in my name. About a month before the event, I will submit a list to the Motel, with each person's name and Credit Card info. From that point forward, you are responsible to:
A. Show up and use it.
B. Cancel.
C. Transfer room to someone else's CC.
D. Pay for it.

It is a guaranteed reservation, so if you don't show up, and don't cancel it, you WILL be charged for the room.

So, from anyone who wants one, I need the following info:

Name, Credit card type, Credit Card Number, Expiry Date, and which nights you want to stay. (some only come for a day or two, while the rest of us are going down Thursday during the day, and coming back Monday morning - AFTER breakfast)

Edit: just an FYI, the cost is $415 CND for all four nights... it would be nice to split that between at least 3 people.

I think we can get 3-4 in a room. 2 people just have to sleep on the floor but when I'm loaded I'll sleep anywhere.

Myself and the missus are making the looooong distance trek to the Shootout this year. After 3500kms of driving we'll probably be at each other's throats, so the double beds may come in handy....

When will we be leaving here? Thursday? Morning or evening?

1. We were thinking Thursday morning... allowing us to get there at a gentle pace, and have friday to relax, or do autocross, or go to Cedar Point, or... whatever. Relax.

2. Rooms have two double beds, so you can cram them in if you want, 4 to a room.
I wouldn't go beyond that though... I mean you can make all the remarks about being drunk out of your mind and not caring... but if you get that drunk, the rest of us are likely to lock you in the boathouse to keep you from embarassing us!

Sounds good to me... I hope leaving thursday morning avoids traffic on the way down there, if there even is any. I've never been so I'll just trust you guys

The Detroit route ends up almost 100km shorter than the Buffalo route...

Computer programs have told us similar things about the distance, but reality just doesn't seem to bear it out. -shrug-
