Friday Aug 11th
Meet at 9:30 - 10:00am at the old Computer City parking lot (there is a Kinko/UPS store there now) at Eglinton and Hurontario (just north of the 403). We will depart there at 10:15 am and head to the highway.

11:00am meet at the Home Depot on HWY#20 in Stoney Creek (Centenial Parkway). This is about 1 block North of the QEW. Pee break, and Tim's run till ~11:30am.

Lunch will be in NY state at the Mcdonalds on the interstate ~1:00-1:30 pm.

We should arrive in Ohio for supper time.(mmmm bacon gravy!!)

NOTES:
1- you NEED a passport or birth certificate to cross the border!!!! or they will turn you back.
2- Gas stops will be at the places we meet and or eat. SO please make sure your tank is full of Sunoco 94 BEFORE you leave. (there are Sunoco stations within blocks of both meeting spots)
3- The interstate in NY is toll so you will need some american $$ for it and the lunch at McDonalds/Denny's.

Please also note that this is the Caravan I'm participating in and these times are not up for discussion If you are not heading down on the Friday...MYOC (make your own caravan)

Please let me know if you plan on joining us!!!!!

"Friday Aug 11th"

... followed by...

"If you are not heading down on the Thursday...MYOC (make your own caravan)"

huh?

Does this mean I need to MYOC, because I was planning on leaving Friday... wink

Now, I'll have all kinds of time to talk about DSMs, because I won't be busy fixing mine!

Ok, so the Store is called "The Room Store".

The store sits on the south/east corner of Eglington and Hurontario. It's basically less than a block north of the 403.

I'd like to try to join in..but can't promise. One of the joys of self employment..not always easy to get away! Any way of joining up maybe in the Niagara area instead of at the Home Depot in Hamilton? I would likely be picking up the g/f in Grimbsy, and would prefer not to back track....I understand you guys bring FRS radios, maybe I could contact you and meet up around the border??

Ziggy, we have to pickup Peckerhead at some point as well, he lives in St Catherines.

If you give Andy your cell phone we can call you as we approach Grimsby.

I just went to NOPI NY 2 weekends ago and a drivers lisence/birth certificate combo was fine. Just an FYI, a BC alone isn't good enough.

Now, don't mean to post hijack, but...

Guys/gals from Ottawa-Toronto, incl. Cornwall and east, who are coming, what do we want to do?

Eric Kellar and myself would like to join a caravan.

(Giz, Scott, not sure if you guys are going on your own again this year or not... )

Should we start one and do pickups at the 401 rest-stops? The easiest ones are at:

1: Just before exit 675 @ Mallory Town, west of Brockville.
2: Approx 7km East of Napanee around exit 593.
3: 5 mins east of Brighton

There is one just before Hwy 115 to Peterborough, but it may be easier to meet in Bowmanville.

If we do decide to meet the TO guys, the caravan coming from Ottawa would have to leave ridiculously early, however we can caravan down on our own..

Anyway just a thought. If that doesn't work out, PPG and Andrew can count Eric and I in for that one, I'll leave early to meet you guys, and I'm sure Eric will do the same.

If we do decide to MYOC, email me at milcan21@hotmail.com and we can arrange for some times.

Thanks for the space.

Ryan

I'm taking the day off, so I don't care when you guys decide to leave. I figure if we want to meet the Toronto Caravan at 9:30, we should leave the rest stop just west of Brighton at 7-7:15

And, for the record, if you really do plan on hooking up with the rest, by all means, call ahead if you get behind.

If you're only a few minutes out, it's ok to wait for you. smile

Ok, so far there will be only 4 cars meeting at HWY 10 and Eglington.

Myself
Brian/Ian
Eric
Ryan

Then on to Stoney Creek, I have only Andy.

Then picking up Ziggy and Steve enroute as we pass Grimsby and St Catherines.

Anyone else?

Eric and I are going to caravan down with Giz and Scott, so you don't have to wait for us in TO.

Edit:

Where at the track are we (Club DSM Canada) all meeting?

Ok, so no one is meeting us at the first stop?

Then I'm gonna skip it and carry on to Stoney Creek. Unless anyone else chimes in.

We do use FRS radios.. Usually we pick the channel last minute before we leave.(shrug)

If Mark calls you, ask him then.. I'll be doing the same.
