I've read that someone could stick a turbo in thier NT for about $800-1000 if parts can be found from tha wreckers is that true? I've never shopped at a wrecker so I have no idea how much they ask for parts... My GFs 94 Talon is a NT and I think I may get her a turbo parts as a gift. She cant keep up with me and I'm tired of her always wanting to drive my ride... Anyone know?

Anyone know if the NT MAF works wit a turbo ECU?
Also is the wiring harness different?

Thanks

it is possible to convert your car into turbo with used parts for 1000 bux i guess if u find the right deal and did all the work ur self. You dont want to run more than 8 psi of boost with the non turbo bottom end due to compression and well you just dont want to blow up!

About electronic question....you can run the stock electronics you have with an aditional fuel pump or just get a bigger one and use a boost dependant fuel pressure regulator.
Right now in my car i have all non turbo electronics ecu/harness/sensors etc etc exept im using a 1g turbo MAS and i am running 8psi with that set up until i swap the full 1g stuff over(harness and ecu)
FYI...i dont drive a talon ,i have a 1992 hyundai sonata converted with a talon turbo set up. [Linked Image]

Ian, I really shouldn't, but... if you don't mind me asking, is that a gift for your GF?
To the question:
I've researched this to a certain extent and found that used parts (stock exhaust mani, turbo, plumbing, downpipe) can be found for about that much. THis provided that you don't change the ECU and run with no I/C which means very limited boost(~6psi).
This is a very intro approach to a turbo kit. This is what they usually sell for hondas for ~$1500. Check DSM trader, there are dosens of people selling stock parts for little over shipping cost.
ON THE OTHER HAND it is debatable how will a high milege car(like mine [Linked Image]) respond to an increase in cylinder pressure.
a) with increased performance or
b) with increased fuel consumption or
c) with blowby that shoots the dipstick through the hood
d) all of the above
I'd think yuo really have to watch the engine condition. Otherwize it may be trouble.

Serious,
I was checking the specs of a Volvo V40 engine (think 1.9turbo) called low pressure turbo. THeirs makes the max torque at 1800 rpm. I think a low pressure turbo on a high compression engine can make a torquey combination.
Still thinking of doing that...
...after I change the rings.

Has anyone heard of quad throttles on a 2.0L?
Artem

I've always wondered if they have quad t-body's for a DSM... I've seen forged induction but never 4 t-bodyies.

Think of the money you can save with quad t/b: no EGR, no ISC,...
Maybe a t/b from a turbo model? I wonder if its any larger?
