Okay here is my plan.. i am not really on planning on having anymore than 350 hp by the time im done.. (ya right) should i just buy the full 3" w/downpipe ect. or will 2.5" ect. be just as good! I dont wanna haveto replace the exhaust system if i wanna do any upgrades later! Is anyone running over 300 hp with 2.5".. I've been told to go all out,, but, other say that i should only do what is needed... WHAT IS NEEDED for 350 hp!??!
If i need the 3" the cost diff. isn't an issue but if i don't need 3" the extra $$ could be used somewhere else!

Wasn't there some guy on the digest bragging about running 11's or low 12's with his pressbent 2.5" exhaust [Linked Image]

I wouldn't believe that until i saw it.. I could see it on a 3" pressbent.. doesn't pressbend decrease the size 1/4" or so???
Anyone else running 300+ hp with 2.5" exhaust!

YES YES YES. I just got a 3" stainless exhaust downpipe-back courtesy of Magnus and its like night and day. I am absolutley positive that I freed up about 30 horses. I tested the car on my vericom and thats what it tells me. It usually is dead on everytime I test my car with it. If you want to maximize the output of your vehicles power, exhaust is a big thing. And Im not kidding when I say that it was an immdediate difference. My fastest ET last year was 13.42 and with all my new mods including the exhaust I can boldy say that mid 12's - low 13's is a definite thing to come. Just letting you know on my experience with having gone to a 3" system. Its worth every penny if you ask me just make sure you have lots of em though [Linked Image]

I was told that with a boost gauge, MBC , new fuel pump, K&N w/cut can, full 3" exhaust, and some porting work you can run high 12's to low 13's and be just over 300 hp.. sound about right!! That what i am aiming for.. thats whats in the works for me.. i almost have enough for the exhaust so after that port work.. and im smokin'

Just a question, but wouldn't you want a new FMIC too to run those times?

I dont believe you need a FMIC til you get around 350+ hp
Correct me if i am wrong!
A FMIC would probably drop the et's abit the cooler the air into the system the better.. But too much air at the wrong time.. not enough HP can create alot of turbo lag.. I saw a car w/ a 20g and huge FMIC and he hasto launch it around 5500-6000 rpm to get rid of his turbo lag dont really know if thats from the size of the turbo or the intercooler.
less air flow the hotter the engine gets.

After the mods i am going to do i think im gonna work on suspension and handling for awhile before i go for more HP..
