So I'm running 225/45ZR17 (BFG G-Force T/A KD) on 17x7 rims. The shop that installed the tires had them inflated to 40psi (max is 44psi for these tires). The ride was quite rough, but similar to the ride I was getting with the stock rims/rubber. I did however see a great improvement in smoothness on the highway.

I searched the UBB for "tire pressure" and found many recommendations, so I ended up deflating the front to 32psi and rear to 30psi. I was amazed, to say the least! Wheel spin/hop on launch is hardly an issue anymore, torque steer is down, cornering feels tighter and the car goes where I steer it rather than where the road slants to.

Is anyone running with a similar setup? Is this a good setup to run at the track (1/4 mile) - what do you guys run with? And what about treadwear - the higher pressure I assume would have caused the tread to wear quicker and less even, correct?
