The wastegate can go "after the turbo". Mine does. It's mounted on the O2 housing. They may be duplicating this type of setup in your car. In fact, many people say that this configuration is preferrable.
You really ought to figure out exactly what they've done before you go there and open a can of whoopass.
Just make sure that you are making the decisions (based on their recommendations) abuot what you want done.
