Pry bar the axle out of the transmission. If you've got the car on jack stands, you'll need a good amount of clearance to work under the car, so best raise it up and get the space needed to use these type of tools.



There's likely a circlip holding it into the tranny. Just use the pry bar on a GOOD spots to snap it out.



EDIT: Be careful not to frack up the axle seal in the tranny using the pry bar.
