That's right. Mike already has a double syncro 1st gear that I installed in the 1990 AWD converted to FWD trans that I built him a few months ago.

Now you could give me that trans and I can install the 1990 style Evo1 3rd and 4th gear and a 64 tooth ring gear. You can leave it FWD or find the evo rear diff ring and pinion and achieve your goal.

Pull the trans out of the red car that I built and drop in a evo3 3rd and 4th gear, 3-4 rail, 1g 3-4 fork, 64 tooth final drive and have your ultimate close ratio trans with double syncros. Since your going to be hitting 5th gear easily, might as well make that double syncro too, along with the DSM 1st gear
