I may have used "solid" inappropriately. From factory, all four studs should have slack in all directions and that's normal. Correct me if i'm wrong, you damaged one stud out of 4. This damaged stud spins around freely correct? If that is the case, you can attempt to weld it or just use vicegrips to hold in place. Each nut takes 64 ft.lbs of torque but if you go less on one nut you should be just fine.
