I realize that this post is pretty old, but allow me my experience.

I love my 1gb.
But parts are hard to find and the rusty fenders p!ss me off.
But nothing is better than driving that car in the summer.
It handles well, and she's been great to me.

The Evo X is a great joy.
It often makes me forget the happiness of the Talon.
I have the auto with the paddles, which is kinda cool.
It's really fast, and he's hard to tame (my kids love it when I push the car)

Bottom line: I couldn't choose between the two.

But practicality reasons: Evo X
Four doors (I can carry all my kids in the one car - I have four kids)
I love the climate controls; and the seat warmers when it's -20C
I love the AWC controls - Snow; Gravel; Tarmac (do they really do something?)
I love he lazy controls (radio, computer screen, etc)

But I still don't get any respect in either car when they line me up on the FU lane.
